Support

Let’s get your words moving again.

Start with the quick fixes below. If you still need help, email support@writeth.app with only non-sensitive details.

Never send an OpenAI API key, Writeth license key, dictated audio, transcript, full provider response, or license instance identifier to support.

The shortcut does nothing

Open Writeth and choose Check permissions again. Confirm Writeth is enabled under System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility. If macOS uses the Globe key for emoji, language switching, or Apple Dictation, choose Right Option or Option–Space instead.

Recording does not start

Confirm Writeth is enabled under System Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone. In Writeth Settings, choose System Default or a connected input device.

Your API key is rejected

Writeth uses the OpenAI API, not a ChatGPT or Codex subscription. Check that your API account has a valid key, billing or credits, model access, and available quota, then replace the key in Writeth Settings.

Text was not pasted

Try a manual Command–V. Writeth intentionally avoids automatic paste when the original app quits, Secure Input is active, or clipboard ownership changes. Do not test with password fields.

Move or recover a license

Deactivate a Mac you can still access before activating another. Purchase recovery uses Lemon Squeezy My Orders. Support can help reset an inaccessible activation after purchase verification.

Contact support

Email support@writeth.app with your Writeth version, macOS version, Mac model, shortcut choice, destination app name, exact on-screen error, and the steps that led to it.
